Skelex has been a cornerstone of the passive exoskeleton movement, pushing boundaries of innovation and adoption over the years. Our team is driven to improve the overall utility and comfort of how humans work in an industrial setting. We do so with the help of our young, yet vastly experienced team of ergonomists, engineers and product designers. Constantly perfecting prototypes, backed with exhaustive testing and an undying desire to help industrial workers be their ultimate – our team is an embodiment of our exoskeletons.
From the lab,
to the Plane,
to Global Industry.
The first iterations of Skelex exoskeletons were born out of Airbus’ requirement for a padded mechanical exoskeleton for aircraft maintenance. Proof of concept and scientific soundness was ratified in this early phase, along with the help of TNO. In 2017, we received a seed investment 2017 from venture capital firm Unknown Group. In 2019, VDL became the exclusive manufacturer of our exoskeletons and also became an investor. Over the last few years, Skelex exoskeletons have become standard issue mechanical devices at facilities of various companies in the aerospace, automotive, construction, defense, railway, shipbuilding, and many others.
